Having trouble turning the call time display off on your smartphone? Follow our instructions to find out how. You can also disable the Smart Stay option and the infrared proximity sensor. You can also disable app notifications and enable adaptive brightness to solve this problem. If none of these solutions work for you, try these:
Disable Smart Stay option
You can disable Smart Stay by navigating to Settings > About Phone>Advanced Features and then tapping the Off toggle. You can then return to the Home page and Smart Stay icons will not appear in the Notification Bar. This feature will not turn off automatically if you are reading an article or watching animated gifs, but will continue to stay on for about 15 seconds. Then, if you want to keep your screen on and want to receive a call, you can turn it off.
The Smart Stay feature works with a remote facial recognition feature. It will prevent the screen from turning off when you see your face, such as when you’re reading Flipboard. The Smart Stay feature also uses the Screen Timeout feature, which shuts off your screen after ten minutes, allowing you to keep using the phone. This feature will conserve battery life and keep you connected to other people on the call without disturbing the person you’re talking to.
Disable infrared proximity sensor
In order to enable or disable the call time display, you must first find the appropriate setting on the phone’s display settings page. This setting will make the display turn off automatically when the user’s face is close to the phone’s display. You can disable this feature if you are not in the habit of using your phone when you are talking on the phone. However, you should be aware that this feature can be easily accessed from other phones because it works through other devices.
Some smartphones have an infrared proximity sensor that turns off the screen while the user is speaking. While this feature is great for preventing people from misreading call times, some users have found it very annoying. If you do not want your phone to do this, you can turn off the infrared proximity sensor and enable the display instead. If you are using a Samsung Galaxy S4 with this feature, you can also cover the screen so that the sensor will not be activated when you are making calls.
Disable app notifications
Android users can easily turn off or disable notifications from their phone. To do so, open the Settings app and tap on Notifications. In the Notification Center, tap on the toggle next to the app you want to turn off or disable. Toggling the notification options is available in the same section as switching off the sound. Disabling notifications will ensure that you’re able to focus on your work without being distracted by distracting notifications.
Depending on your device, you can also customize the notification settings for each app. For instance, if you don’t want to receive notifications from certain applications, you can turn off the call time display from any application. Similarly, you can disable notifications for apps that send you text messages. You can also set the notification sound and appearance if you prefer. This way, you won’t receive a notification whenever someone calls you.
