Mark Guman – Author, Physician, and Speaker


The Washington Redskins have defeated the Los Angeles Rams 17-7 in the NFC Championship. The Redskins forced seven turnovers in the game and led by as many as 14-0 after the first quarter. Joe Washington accounted for two of those scores, and the Redskins took a 14-0 lead into halftime. It took until the third quarter for the Rams to make a comeback, however, with a Vince Ferragamo pass to Mark Guman.
Dr. Mark Hyman is a practicing family physician

Dr. Mark Hyman is an author, physician, and speaker who has received national recognition for his work in alternative medicine, biochemistry, and nutrition. His work has influenced the way people view and treat disease. He has given testimony before the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine, and has advised the Surgeon General on a diabetes prevention initiative. He is also on the board of the Institute for Functional Medicine, which pioneers the study of nutrition as medicine.

Hyman is an internationally known leader in the field of functional medicine and is the founder of the UltraWellness Center. He is also the Head of Strategy and Innovation for the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine, and Board President for Clinical Affairs for the Institute for Functional Medicine. In addition to his many publications, Dr. Hyman is a twelve-time New York Times bestselling author and is a frequent media contributor. Hyman and his team work to heal the body and improve people’s social and economic resilience.

After graduating from Cornell University, Dr. Hyman worked as a rural family physician in the mountains of Idaho. He later worked as Medical Director for an international medical center in Beijing, where he consulted on the establishment of medical centers for expatriates. He also served in an inner city emergency room in Springfield, Massachusetts. After graduating from Cornell University with a B.A., he obtained his Magna Cum Laude from Ottawa University School of Medicine. He also completed a family medicine residency at the University of San Francisco, where he now practices.

In addition to his work as a physician, Hyman has extensive experience in the fields of nutrition and health. He has presented at the World Economic Forum, the Clinton Foundation, and numerous conferences on health. Hyman has also been recognized with the Linus Pauling Award, the Nantucket Project Award, and the American College of Physicians’ prestigious TEDMED award. In addition to his many publications and speaking engagements, Hyman has also been recognized with the Christian Book of the Year Award for his work on the Daniel Plan, written in collaboration with Dr. Rick Warren and Dr. Mehmet Oz, and hosted a health podcast that has gained international attention.

The author of numerous books, including The Food Revolution, The Food X Foundation, and The Plant Paradox, Hyman has helped millions of people improve their health through the power of food. His programs have been embraced by health care providers and the public alike. Hyman has also spoken to Congress and received the Linus Pauling Award for his work. In addition, his work has earned him a spot in the Books for a Better Life Hall of Fame.

Dr. Gregory Guman is a practicing family physician

Originally from New York state, Dr. Gregory Guman is a practicing family physician. He earned an M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and attended Ohio University’s Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. While attending medical school, Greg served as vice president of his ACOFP student chapter and addressed family medicine policy issues as a member of the national student resolutions committee. He co-authored resolutions to improve access to naloxone and affordable housing for medical students undergoing away-rotational training.

He is Board Certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Gregory Guman is the Medical Director of the Gonzaba Medical Group’s Northwest Clinic. Dr. Guman graduated from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio in 2000 and completed a residency in Family Medicine at the University of New Mexico. In addition, Dr. Guman has served as medical director of First Choice Community Healthcare. He and his staff provide excellent care for patients at both of their Edgewood locations.

His background and training have led him to become board certified in family medicine. He completed medical school at VCOM Blacksburg and completed his residency at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Since completing his residency, Dr. Guman has been practicing family medicine in Bristol, Tennessee. He also enjoys weight lifting, running, and hiking. He is also a Star Wars fan.
