Ventura, California – The Perfect Place For a Day of Surfing

 

When visiting Ventura, you’ll want to check out the city’s many beaches. Just two miles west of the city is Emma Wood State Beach Park. Here you can go swimming and surfing. Located in Ventura County, California, San Buenaventura State Beach offers two miles of pristine shoreline and a snack bar. Mission San Buenaventura

Mission San Buenaventura in Ventua, California was founded by Father Junipero Serra in 1782. It is one of California’s last remaining missions. It was the ninth of twenty-one missions established by the missionaries. This mission was named after Saint Bonaventure and is the namesake of the city. The first chapel was burned down in 1792, but the second church was completed in 1809. The third church was destroyed in 1890.

The Ventura Mission is one of twenty-one missions in California. It sits high above the Pacific Ocean on a hill and has a water fountain. Inside, you can find an olive press and antique water pump. This mission is not very big, but it is full of history and well worth a visit. You can take a self-guided tour of the mission for a donation of $2 per adult and 50C for children.
Channel Islands Whale Watching

The company offers tours in the pristine waters of the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary and National Park. Foothill Technology High School, or FTHS for short, serves over 1,000 students in grades nine through twelve. It is a public school in Ventura, California. The school participates in the CIF Southern Section, and its athletic teams are nicknamed the Dragons. The school competes for the comprehensive schools’ title, which means that its students come from a variety of backgrounds and are likely to excel in a variety of sports.

Founded in 1989, Foothill Technology High School is one of the oldest and most well-known public high schools in the state. It is located on the Ventura Unified School District and enrolls over 1,000 students in grades nine through twelve. This school has a student-to-teacher ratio of 27.7, which is higher than the state average. Additionally, FTHS has a strong reputation for helping students prepare for college, which helps the school’s ranking in the state.
